This reminded me of the Hawaiian word Puka meaning Opening and Lani meaning Heavenly,” says Rickard. “In our workshop, master craftsmen hand carve these filigree designs. The flowers, scrolls, and leaves wind their way around these openings, creating a natural openwork that is both very distinctive and very beautiful. This work is much more detailed than the solid design, and really shows off the craftsmen's superb talents. The look is fresh and different, yet still completely Hawaiian Jewelry.”
